Emma Hunt recognised her natural talents from an early age. Growing up in the Suffolk coastal village of Walberswick, she had the great fortune to be taught to sew by her aunt when she was just nine. Armed with Granny’s sheets, a few pebbles from the beach, her mother’s old saucepan and some pots of dye, a career in fashion began.
She originally wanted to create something more flamboyant than wedding dresses, but with a BA Honours degree in Fashion, Emma started designing wedding dresses for friends and family and began to indulge in more expensive fabrics and to explore her perfectionism with her gorgeous creations
After many years of designing as a side project, she decided to start up her own business. Combining her flare for fashion and technical knowledge of garment construction, Emma began with a small collection of wedding dresses and, thus, the Emma Hunt label was born
18 years on and Emma has built an excellent reputation for designing exquisite dresses of the highest quality. Drawing on previous experience in hospitality, Emma highlights her exceptional customer service as the key to her success.
She prides herself on giving a truly personal approach, aiming for individual perfection with every client and creation. Emma understands that her business is based not just on the dresses themselves but also the way they are created for her brides. She gives her undivided attention to both, through consultations and fittings. She goes above and beyond to ensure each client walks away with their dream dress without compromise
Emma is inspired by the arts - film, theatre, books, art – and anything with texture; a particular shape or pattern can influence her thoughts and design process. It is important to Emma that all work is carried out in England, proudly displaying the Made in Britain badge, so she can maintain the quality and craftsmanship promised to her brides
Rather than designing for trends, Emma Hunt London’s dresses are classic, timeless pieces with a modern twist, creating their own unique flavour for brides who love the idea of a British handmade wedding dress for their special day.
